Cancellation List

If patients are needing an appointment sooner then their original booking or have a time sensitive matter to discuss with their doctor please give reception a call. They'll assist you by triaging your needs and placing you on a cancellation list either for your requested doctor or the next doctor available.

Communication Policy

Our switchboard is very busy early in the morning with patients making appointments. We would appreciate patients who have non-urgent queries to phone later in the day. Doctors who are busy consulting will return calls If they are able to spare time in their day. Emergency calls are an exception and will be taken immediately.

Electronic communication is available over email. We can be contacted at practice@colourcitymedicalpractice.com.au

Email messages will be forwarded to the appropriate doctor or staff member and a response will be provided in a timely manner. Email should not be used for booking or cancelling appointments. All appointments should be made and cancelled via calling us on 6360 2388. Appointments can also be made and cancelled online. We currently use HotDoc as our online appointment provider.

Please avoid using email for appointment related queries.

Complaints

Patients have a ‘right to complain’ and where possible patients and others are encouraged to raise any concerns directly with the Practice Manager who will make sure patients feel confident that any feedback or complaints made will be handled appropriately. Patients and others have opportunities to register their complaints either verbally to staff, in writing (letter) or via our suggestion box. We make every effort to respond to and resolve complaints at the time the patient or other people such as carers (relative, friend or other provider) makes them known to us.

The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission may be reached on: 1800 043 159 Or by going to: http://www.hccc.nsw.gov.au/Complaints/How-To-Make-a-Complaint/Default/default.aspx

Under national and state privacy laws: Commonwealth Privacy Act – Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 and APP, CCMP must provide and adhere to a complaints process for privacy issues and those related to the APPs/Health Privacy Principles (HPPs).

For more information about our complaints process you can access our complaints policy.

General Practice

Colour City Medical Practice is located on Dalton Street between Sale Street and Anson Street. The practice contains 14 doctors, 4 nurses and 10 reception staff and is a mixed billing practice. Our team aims to provide the best medical care for our patients in an individualised manner.

HotDoc Appointments

We offer online bookings through HotDoc. The HotDoc Appointment App is available for download on your Smartphone or other hand held devices.

Home and Nursing Visits

In special circumstances certain doctors are available for home visits this is possible through prior arrangements. We service patients at a number of nursing homes across Orange.

Please note that our doctors are currently at full capacity and are no longer taking on new nursing home patients.

How to Access Telehealth Appointments

Please follow the instructions through our attached link for how to access your telehealth appointment.

Otherwise if you have made a telephone consultation the doctor will call your preferred stated contact number on the date and time of your appointment.

Sometimes the doctor may call outside these hours if they are running behind or become available earlier in the day. So please be near your phone on the day of your appointment to allow for this.

Interpreter Services

If you require an interpreter, this will be arranged through TIS services prior to an appointment and is available for a wide range of languages. Please let reception know if you require this service.

MyMedicare Program

MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration program designed to strengthen the relationship between you and your general practitioner. By registering with MyMedicare, you will be able to access your doctor long distance for longer consultation times whether needing workcover or a number of different care plan options to manage both your mental and physical health. You can also access further benefits such as longer telehealth consultations, triple bulk billing incentives, and tailored care for chronic conditions.

New Patients

Unfortunatley, Colour City Medical Practice is not taking on any new patients at this time.
Please feel free to give us a call if you are an immediate family member within the same household of a current patient already attending our practice.

Reception will endeavour to place a request in with the doctor but doesn't guarantee that a doctor will be able to provide you with the quality of care you deserve due to an over capacity with their current patient demands.

Non-Attendance Fee

A fee may be charged for non-attendance of appointments. This will be $30 for a standard consultation or $60 for a long consultation that has been booked but not attended. Extenuating circumstances will always be taken into account.

Parking and Disability Access

On-site parking is available. Please use the left driveway to enter. We have easy access patient and disability designated parking available in the car park along with ramp access at the back of the building.

Practice Fees

If you have any questions about our practice fees you can go to 'Our Services', at the bottom of the page you will find our fees. We display our fees throughout the practice and if you have any questions you can speak to one of our reception staff.

We, as a practice use the information you provide to manage your healthcare.
